teachers, for those who care deeply about their students
and their profession. It is our hope that on these pages

We believe that you are the expert in your classroom.
This site is for you to search, enjoy, think about. Borrow
what interests you. Tweak it for your students. Make any
idea your own.
At Hearts for Teaching we each have our own focus, our own
passion in education, but we share the same beliefs:
- Every student, and every educator, has the potential to change the world.
- The influence of a teacher extends (in time, in distance and within each student) farther than the teacher will ever know.
- Of the many relationships that exist within a classroom, the relationship between the teacher and the student is the most powerful.
- It is much more important to "walk the walk" than it is to "talk the talk".
- It is our job to teach our students the skills, and to provide our students with the opportunities, to succeed.
- Language and emotions are intrinsically connected.
- The most effective way to teach is to involve the body, mind, heart and soul of the student in the learning.
- It is our professional privilege to share what we love with others.
