I am a freelance writer.I have worked as a reporter for Area News Group in Hudson, NH where I wrote news stories for the towns of Hudson, Litchfield, Pelham, and Windham.I went hang gliding for the first time last summer, wrote about the experience and got my story Yee Ha! published in U.S Hang Gliding and Paragliding Magazine.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Plymouth State University with a BA in English Writing.During my time there I wrote for the school newspaper The Clock. I interned at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium where I collaborated with the executive director to write their first annual report.I traveled with a team of students to the Dominican Republic on an International Service Trip where I taught and mentored young children.I held officer positions in Plymouth State's Medieval Society serving both as Vice President and Secretary. My peers honored me for my dedication to the club by presenting me with a Knighthood Award.I lead the publicity committee that put out flyers for Plymouth State's annual Medieval Forum. The club taught me how to make medieval chain maile (a type of armor) which I expanded upon creating chain maile jewelry and new products to be sold at fundraising events.I taught students, faculty, and visiting professors how to make chain maile during workshops.
In my free time I hike in New Hampshire's White Mountains, and ski their slopes in the winter. I enjoy bike riding.I speed along narrow bicycle trails while dodging chipmunks, and cross over creeks on old wooden bridges listening to the clunking sound each plank makes as my tires rush over them.I go kayaking and white water rafting.I love adventure whether it is a short walk around the block or a trip to another country. If adventure is hard to come by I pick up a good book and let it transport me some place new.
