Here is a list of simple but thoughtful suggestions for staff appreciation from the Laurel Hill PTA to make this week fun and easy for everyone! These are only suggestions so please do one, do some, do them all, or be creative and customize your own activities. Please also consider the additional teachers your child sees throughout the week. Thank you!
Marvelous Monday: *Kids
bring in a flower for their teacher.
FANtastic Tuesday: *Kids
bring fan letters to their teacher telling them… ‘5 Reasons
why you ROCK.’
Wild ‘FAN’ Wednesday: *Kids
participate by bringing in their teacher’s favorite treat.
ROCKIN’ Thursday: *Spirit
Thursday! Kids wear school colors to
school to show their appreciation for the Rockstar staff at LHES.
Fruity Tooty Friday: *Kids bring
in a piece of fruit for their teachers.

ORDER FORMS DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 13! It is time to mark your calendar for the Laurel Hill Volleyball game. The game will be played on April 20th in the South County Secondary School’s gymnasium. Come out to see our faculty team up and take on this year’s opponent, Silverbrook Elementary School. Plan ahead and buy your tickets early for a discounted price of $6 each. Ticket sales at the door the day of the event will be shared between the schools at $8 each. All presale ticket proceeds will go solely to benefit our school and the programs that our PTA proudly provides. Please purchase your tickets early to support our school. There will be food, raffles as well as spirit prizes awarded again this year. Our spirited Laurel Hill cheerleaders will return to entertain us and cheer on the faculty as they battle it our on the volleyball court. We look forward to seeing you at the game! |

“An evening of Food, Fun and Families from Around the World”
Friday May 11th, 2012, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Join us at our International Family Night! We will come together to celebrate the diverse
cultural backgrounds of our school community. Get ready to travel around the world by visiting our
international displays, watch or participate in the Parade of Nations, watch or perform a special
song, dance or musical instrument, sample delicious international foods, and participate in some
fun activities and crafts.
Sign up flyers will be sent home in the Wednesday Folder after Spring Break. We look forward

Need to get the winter grime washed off your car? If so, make plans to visit the Sixth Grade Car Wash on Saturday, April 14th, from 9am to noon.
Laurel Hill students will be scrubbing and shining for cash donations to support their end-of-the-year class party in June. The class is also looking for donations of old towels to be used at the car wash. If your spring cleaning leaves you with some you’d like to unload,
just send them to the school. A drop box will be located in the Front Office.

Laurel Hill ES Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A! Come out and support our school by enjoying a delicious Chick-fil-A meal with friends, family and neighbors! A portion of proceeds from all meals sold will come back to to the school in support of PTA enrichment programs for our children! When: March 5, 2012 Where: Chick-fil-A in Woodbridge (Prince William Pkwy, near Michaels and Target) Time: 5pm - 7pm only We also have a Spring Dine Around planned for March 28 at Fireside Grill in Lorton Station. The Spring Dine Around at Fireside Grill will be held from 11am - 10pm (dine in or carry out service). I will send you the flyer for the spring dine around before the end of next week.
