Sister Farm Trails --Spring Work Day Scheduled May 16.

LATA Banquet Held on February 7th

We had an enjoyable LATA banquet that made some money for trail maintenance on Saturday. Thanks to the organizers.

LATA Officers Elected

Treasurer Lee Norwood and Directors Deb Ziemer, Dawn Norton, Lynette Anderson, and Jim Kurz were elected at the annual meeting on October 18th.

Sisters' Farm Work Day, Annual Meeting, and Potluck on 10-18-08

The leaves have turned color and we have frost, so snow can’t be far behind. It is time to think about renewing Ladysmith Area Trail Association memberships. This is a bargain at $15 for individuals and $25 for families. A membership form is enclosed. Memberships and donations support summer mowing, (which has been great again this year Jerry!) and winter grooming and trail lighting, as well as improvement projects.

We also have some business to take care of, which we are going to try to make a social event on October 18th. Here is the schedule:

1-4:30 Trail work at Sisters’ Farm. This mostly involves cutting back brush and briars. Gloves and branch loppers or a small saw would work well.

4:30 LATA annual meeting at Dan and Lynette’s house N4586 at the end of Maxon Road (off Port Arthur Road, west of the hospital and east of Sisters’ Farm).

5:30 or so A potluck at Dan and Lynette’s. Brats will be provided; bring a dish to pass, beverages, and alternate meat to grill if you want. Please bring camping chairs.

Tuesday Night Bike Rides

There are weekly road rides starting at the Marshfield Clinic (medical not dental) on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. This week the ride was about 17 miles long.

Log Cabin Now Wired

The log warming cabin at the LHS trailhead now has electric lights and outlets.
