Donate Because Las Manos de Christine is still a small organization, the best way to assist us is to donate directly to support our program. All donations are used for resources, teacher salaries, and teacher transport. The Las Manos directors and administration team are all non-paid volunteers. If you are interested in helping us in this way, please click on Donate for specific instructions on how to make a donation. All donations and sponsorships received by Las Manos de Christine in 2008 and 2009 will go directly to fund our work with the Safe Passage (Camino Seguro) English program. Attend Events By attending one of our events you can help us financially as well as have the opportunity to learn more about what we do and those we are trying to help. Please see our events page for details of upcoming events. Buy Art Purchasing a painting from one of the artists on our list enables us to raise money now and in the future. Our artists have donated at least 50% of the price of their work, which goes directly to pay for teachers, materials, and development of the Safe Passage English program. If we can continue to sell art, we will continue to build our relationship with the Guatemalan artistic community and so have more artists and more paintings available. If you are interested in buying art, please see our art page. Sponsor English Teacher Sponsorship: $ 75.00 per month English Student Sponsorship: $ 25.00 per month Every sponsor will receive quarterly reports on the progress of their students, including evaluation results and photographs. To learn more about becoming a sponsor please email us at lasmanosdc@gmail.com. Teach Las Manos is always happy to hear from qualified English teachers who would like to work in our program. Although we are a non-profit organization, all teaching positions are paid. We will provide assistance in finding housing in the Guatemala City and with Spanish classes. Teachers will have an opportunity to work directly with children living in the Guatemala City dump and to make a huge difference in the quality of their lives. If you are interested in working with us, please see our become a teacher page. |
