Fundraising Events in October
The second annual Las Manos de Christine Art Auction is being held in October, 2008. The auction will feature pieces by a selection of well known and up and coming Guatemalan artists, including Ramon Avila, Francisco García, and Mariana de Siebolt.

The Opening: 5pm until late, October 8th

We unveiled the art for this year’s auction in the gallery on the second floor terrace of Meson de Panza Verde, Antigua. The opening was free to the public, and we served wine and finger food. There was a great turnout and everyone enjoyed the art and the refreshments. At the end of the evening, we ran a raffle (with all proceeds to the English program) for a piece donated by Jose Francisco. The artist was on hand to give the painting to the lucky winner. We would like to say a special thank you to Meson Panza Verde for hosting this event and our upcoming auction.

The Dinner: 7pm, October 8th

In the Panza Verde restaurant, we held an intimate dinner celebrating the work of Safe Passage (Camino Seguro) and their kids in the English program. 34 guests enjoyed a sumptuous three course dinner featuring a speeches by Camino Seguro student Daniel Pineda and philanthropist José Rozas Botrán. At the end of the dinner, we held a mini auction where our guests brought five paintings.

The Auction: 7pm, October 28th
For those interested in bidding on a piece, the auction will be held in the gallery at Meson Panza Verde. Wine and finger food will be served.

The Art
The art is available for viewing in the gallery at Meson Panza Verde from the 8th through to the 28th of October. Bids can be made throughout this time, and the art will be available at a set price for those who want to make an early purchase.
