HOME: Maison Laporte

The gardens have been beautifully landscaped and are constantly being updated with new plants and ideas. The land around has been seeded with a variety of grasses, herbs and wildflowers. Over 4000 trees and mixed hedgerows have been planted on our land with more planted each year. We created steps and a path that takes you all around our land and set up a relaxing hammock area for you to relax and connect with nature in the woodland.

Laporte comes under the community area of a small and pretty village called Durfort http://isaisons.free.fr/Durfort.htm and if you put our address into google maps http://maps.google.com/ you can see just how private the house is. There is no traffic (private road), clean air and very distant light pollution at night, which is perfect for star gazing.

The house has one lovely self-contained gîte for rental, which we call Foxy Lodge and is positioned on the woodland side of the house. We are proud that our efforts to improve biodiversity have been such a success that our gardens are now filled with butterflies, bees, frogs and birds to enjoy. Facilities include swimming pool (shared with our family) for the summer with a fantastic view of the pyrenees.
