18th Annual Haunted House and Fun Fair Rain doesn't stop a good time!!!!!
Mahalo to the Lanikai Ohana for putting on a great Fun Fair!!!!!
Lanikai Elementary will host its 18th annual Haunted House and Fun Fair on Saturday, October 25 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on the school’s campus in Kailua.
This Halloween festivity will include delicious food, a vast array of games, great prizes, a costume contest, and most notably a haunted house.
The haunted house, which is sponsored by the Kaneohe Marines Adopt a School program, will cost three dollars for children and seniors and five dollars for adults.
There will be numerous games, which will vary in price, ranging from a bean bag toss to a dunking pool and even a witch’s brew where you can win prizes such as Sea Life Park tickets or an iPod. There will also be a bake sale, a hair, nails and temporary tattoo tent, a pony ride with a photo, face painting, and even a bouncy house and slide.
Throughout the night, delicious food will be available from local food vendors such as Aloha Salads and Kamamai Catering. There will be ice cream sundaes, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs and a bake sale. There will also be a best-costume contest during the night and all students, parents and teachers are invited to dress up.
All funds that are raised at the Fun Fair and Haunted House will benefit the different classes of Lanikai Elementary. Each class will host a different game or tent and will be allowed to keep the respective proceeds they collect. Come out and support your keiki's class.
Alumni, students and families are encouraged to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime community event. Since 2003, the event has been dedicated to Lanikai parent Fred Vogelgesang who created the idea for the Haunted House before passing away from lung cancer. Vogelgesang played an instrumental role in keeping the parent volunteers coming back each year.
