Carrow Cup Festival 2011

The Over 60s crew in Bembridge (Shilling, Bream, Penfold, Gilbert and Partridge) won the Traditional Boat race against a field including two sliding seat skiffs and two Cornish pilot gigs.


Great River Race 2011

In a very successful race in which five boats took part, Langstone Cutters won the Veteran Women's Over 40 trophy (Deborah and Sandra in 15 Seconds), the Veteran's Over 60 and the Fastest Clayton Skiff (Shilling, Bream, Penfold, Gilbert and Partridge in Gladys).

Senior Team of the Year: Langstone Supervets Outstanding Achievement for Senior Team of the Year. The commendation read: "The Langstone Cutters have an exceptional record for winning the supervets trophy in the race, 6 years in succession, but this year the Super Vets not only successfully defended the trophy for fastest Over 60’s super veterans on handicap; they also won, for the first time in 10 years, the Clayton Trophy, the trophy for the class of boat."
Veteran Women: Deborah and Sandra came away with the award for outstanding the commendation read: "This year the Langstone Ladies not only successfully defended the Harry Purchase Trophy for
 the first woman’s crew on handicap, won in 2000 and 2009; in 2010 they also won for the first time, the Paul Satow Veteran Woman’s Trophy for the fastest veteran women on handicap."

Runner Up: Veteran Sportsman of the Year: Mike Gilbert.  The commendation read: " Mike had an busy year, achieving three significant goals; Rowing from London 2 Paris; Rowing Ocean to City in Cork and participating in the Langstone Superveterans team in the Great River Race - in the process facing hard training, a sinking at sea, and winning 4 trophies in the three races."
