Welcome!
     Founded over 150 years ago, Langley Fitzurse Church of England Primary School combines the traditional values of a village-based education with a contemporary approach to learning and development.

Closely linked to the village church, the school strives to create a supportive atmosphere of mutual respect that encourages academic progress.
The result is a happy, thriving school in a caring community at which your child can blossom and excel.

School history

Our school dates back to 1856 (and in fact even earlier, from 1818 when a "Dame school" was established in the Granary at Limes Farm).
The original school was built by Mr. Clutterbuck, and he has a memorial window in St.Peter's church in the village. Lots more fascinating facts at http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/community/getschool.php?id=1124

In the community

We are proud to say that Langley Fitzurse school is a major contributor to our local village and community. Projects we have either organised or have been involved with include;
  • Kington Langley Scarecrows Festival
  • North Wiltshire Small Schools Sports tournaments
  • Chippenham Folk Festival - our maypole team dances in the main arena on May Bank Holiday Saturday
  • Kington Langley Christmas Fair (held at the school)
  • eSafety seminar for the local school cluster
  • "Last Choir Standing" in Chippenham
