Lacrosse inspired Ricky to be a better friend, son, brother, and person. This scholarship is set up in his memory not only as a way to remember him, but also as a way of encouraging other Lane Tech Lacrosse players to seek that passion that resides within. Lacrosse players are only eligible to apply (must have two years minimum experience). Only two Lane students (one male, one female) will be selected. Cook Scholarship Deadline: May 15, 2012 Award: $500 Description: The Warren H. Cook Memorial Scholarship honors the life, spirit and integrity of Lane Tech graduate (class of 1938), Warren H. Cook. Mr. Cook received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). Having served in the United States Navy during World War II, Mr. Cook returned home to Chicago where he spent his professional career working as an electrical engineer at Western Electric. A devoted Mason for over fifty years, Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Katherine, and four children. The scholarship award is based on financial need, scholastic ability and a commitment to majoring in engineering. Dr. Barbara Sherman was a strong advocate for students with 504 and/or IEP Plans.
