My Projects

Save-The-Date

I made this using Word and Powerpoint.  The back has local hotel information and our website listed.  I bought the paper from Paper-Source.

Invitations

Before they were invitations ...

It took me MONTHS to make my invitations because I couldn't get them j.u.s.t r.i.g.h.t.  I may have worked on them a year, I'm not sure.  By the time I got done with wording - colors - design, I was ready to never see the invitations again.  However, I had yet to start.  As you can see I went through a LOT of ideas before settling.  It was all worth it though.  I'm kinda thinking about going into business -- hmmmm...

Final Outcome

The Invitation

The actual invitation had to be tied differently - this way didn't look that good from the back.  So, the actual invitation set looked like this:

Programs

The start of my idea for the program.  On the cover are the words to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds.  The Luckiest has always been our song.   The Luckiest will be the first song sang at our wedding.  In a way you could say we had a "lucky" theme going.

I changed it up just a little - I'm not sure what I like better - centered or to the lower right.

Garter

Tossing:

I made using fabric from JoAnns.  The fabric already had the lace, silk and elastic in it.  I bought as much as I needed, sewed it together, and added the bow and beads.

Keepsake:

My keepsake garter was going to be made using lace from my grandmother that I ALWAYS  played "princess" with when I was little.  I was also using the cloth from the BMs dresses - then I realized I couldn't sew.  So ... I'm up a creek now.  We'll see what happens.  I was going to attach my new initial, a little engagement ring charm and my great-grandmothers wedding band to it.  It's still a work in progress as are the ideas ...

The final outcome

I loved my garter!  My grandmother made my garter out of the fabric from the bridesmaids dresses as well as lace I used to play dress up with as a little girl (my something old).  The purple charm was a last minute addition.  My paternal grandmother gave me a necklace before she died that had February's birthstone.  I don't wear jewelery so I detached the charm and added it to my garter so I could have something from both grandmothers.  Instead of my great-grandmothers ring (I didn't want to lose it), I added an engagement ring charm for good luck.  It turned out lovely!

Veil

I chose to wear this veil - but after redoing it completely.  I detached and reattached the comb, added "sparkle" allover and shortened it by  10 inches.

Aisle Runner

Idea

 Runner

(being used as a tablecloth here - probably not the BEST idea)

I'll get a better picture later when the vase is gone

We didn't get to use this because it was to windy and it ended up getting thrown away.

 Practice Makes Perfect

Low:

The Beginning of our centerpiece - trial and error

Centerpiece now -- only not a good picture.

Tall:

Again, just a practice one, but you learn through trial and error, right?

Pomanders

I made these for our flower girls using roses I bought at a garage sale, pearls I had left from a bridal shower I threw a last year, and a styrofoam ball bought from a dime store.  My brother is doing a great job showing it off, huh?

 Wreath

This will go on the outside entrance door from the house to the deck - the one everyone will be entering from.

Guestbook

I bought a Kolo Photo Album from Paper-Source, cut it down a bit and ran it through my printer to customize.  I only printed the guest pages on one side because, at the reception I plan on having little cards for gusts to write advice on.  After the Honeymoon I'm going to put the cards in little envelopes and glue them to the back side of each page.
