Ocupan el 21% del territorio nacional y extendiéndose a través de los estados Cojedes, Portuguesa, Barinas, Apure y Guárico, y forman parte del territorio más extenso y menos poblado del país, por lo que es un EXCELENTE lugar para la observación de flora y fauna en su hábitat natural. Gracias a sus tierras áridas y su clima calido, la agricultura y la ganadería se desarrollan en condiciones óptimas en esta región.

Sus habitantes son los famosos LLANEROS que, con su amabilidad y hospitalidad, invitan al visitante a conocer esta hermosa región.

En los llanos existen dos estaciones climáticas bien definidas, el "invierno" o temporada de lluvia, en la cual las llanuras se transforman en inmensas lagunas que ocasionan un despliegue de fauna en cada rincón del llano; y el "verano" o temporada de sequía en la que las lagunas se reducen dejando un terreno seco y árido. En esta temporada se puede contemplar la fauna en torno a las lagunas.

ITINERARY

 

Day 1:
- Departure at 08:00 hours from your hotel or posada.
- Paramo road ( Transandina ) visiting the Andean villages of  Mucuchies, San Rafael, Church of Stone, Apartaderos, Mucubaji lake, St. Domingo valley.
- Arrival to Barinas city, lunch at Typical Restaurant.
- Transportation to Apure state ( wildlifewatching on the road ) and arrival to Typical farm in Los Llanos.
- Dinner and Lodging in hammocks.

Day 2:
- Breakfast.
- Wildlife and Bird observation from the boat. Sure animals include, Pink river dolphins, Iguanas, Turtles, Capybara, Howler Monkeys, Caymans, Snakes ( inc. Anacondas, from December to May ), different fish and more birds than any other part of the Llanos. Possible animals: Giant Anteater, Deer, Jaguar, Ocelot, Jaguarundi, Tamandua, Pecari, Capuchin Monkeys, Giant Amazon river Otters and others. - Piranha fishing (and eating !!!)

- Lunch in our camp.

- Ridinghorses activity.
- Dinner and Lodging in hammocks.

 

Day 3:
- Breakfast.
- Transportation to Barinas city.
- Lunch.
- 3 and a half hours to Merida or you can finish this amazing trip in Barinas.
