Making the team If you want to swim, it is essential that you be on time, make ALL practices, and have a positive attitude. It is even more important that you attend ALL classes… be on time to class and respectful of your teachers and the Churchill staff. If you are absent from class you must notify the attendance office within 24 hours. If you do not, you will not be permitted to compete in the next scheduled meet. You must also commit yourself to doing well in all academic classes... school comes before swimming. Requirements to Letter 1. Every swimmer must make 85% of all practices offered. There will be no make-ups. If you have a conflicting activity, it is your responsibility to make the Head Coach aware in advance. If you go to school, you are expected to be at practice. Unexcused absences must be excused by a note or email from a parent, doctor, or teacher. 2. Every swimmer will compete in FIVE of the six scheduled dual meets or invitationals AND participate in BOTH days of the District Swim Championships. A letter may also be awarded to team members who have made an outstanding contribution to the team over the course of the season and have demonstrated their service by advancing the principles of LANCER PRIDE and team unity. This will be left to the discretion of the coaching staff. **Coaches have final say in all lettering decisions** |
