OEA Representative Assembly was held on Friday April 20th and Saturday April 21st at Jantzen Beach on the River.
Terry Shlaes, Edward Derby, Traci Nguyen, Heather Thompson, Jaime Ohr and Andy Porter were the LOEA delegates in attendance.  The event was intense, and the finest display of Roberts Rules of Order defined democracy in action most attending had ever witnessed.  The OEA Board adopted Strategic Action Plan funding was allocated from the Relief Fund, but tough sideboards and accountability for the expenditures were adopted, too.

On Tuesday, March 20th a dozen LOEA members rallied with members of other metro area locals and hundreds of Gresham-Barlow, Parkrose and Reynolds teachers.  It was miserably wet, cold and windy - but spirits were high!  Stay posted as things are still not settled in East County.  Let's hope the School Boards and Associations can come to terms soon with fair contract agreements!

City of Lake Oswego

THANK YOU, LAKE OSWEGO!!

The members of the Lake Oswego Education Association want to express their gratitude and sincerest thanks to the members of the Lake Oswego community who so strongly support the Lake Oswego School District.  From the hundreds and hundreds of volunteers who commit untold thousands of hours in support of  academic, athletic and artistic endeavors to the thousands of contributors to the Lake Oswego School District Foundation, our members are reminded every day that their work is valued and appreciated by district patrons.  The Foundation has raised nearly $2,400,ooo in another successful fund-raising campaign in 2011.  In tough economic times like these we are astounded and humbled by the continued tremendous generosity of school district supporters and the many volunteers who work so hard on behalf of the Foundation fund-raising effort.  Additionally, we truly appreciate that our City of Lake Oswego Council has responded so generously to help LOSD bridge the gap.
