She Bee Stingin'

  
The bees are sewing Laila’s robe with their tail like a needle with thread. That symbolizes that her robes are made by a manufacturer with belts drapped across her shoulders. The bees also symbolize that Laila has her father’s gift. Laila’s sting is very painful. She’s the one that they all fear in the ring. Laila is a lady of fashion as well as a female boxer. It is just my imagination that she has a hairstyle like a bee hive and ribbons plaited into her pigtails.
 
 
 
 
Muhammad Ali could float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. That is why his daughter, Laila, has invisible and interchangeable wings. She has the wings of a butterfly and the wings of a bee. Laila is known as “She Bee Stingin’ Laila Ali”. Like Wonder Woman is “ The Spirit of Truth”, Laila is known as “The Boxing Warrior”. She is also a fashion lady. Laila Ali is about many things. 
 
 
 
 
 

Laila doesn’t always look the same. My heart and hand doesn’t always draw her the same. Sometimes she looks glamorous, sometimes she looks natural, and I see it all. With everything coming to my mind at one time, it can be hard to capture. Sometimes I draw signs and symbols that are not visible. I drew Laila with a butterfly wing and a bee wing mingled into her robe with her father’s face. I allowed the colors of the bee wing to pierce into Muhammad Ali’s face transparently.

Getting Stung by the Bee

A few weeks ago, I went outside to mow the grass. I pushed a tree limb with blossoms out of my way, and then a big, giant, yellow, and black bee landed on my arm. Hurriedly, I knocked him away, but he still bit into my skin a little bit. There was a tiny hole in the center of the swelling area. As soon as I could, I went into the house to put some alcohol on it. It was stinging a little, but after a bath and the next morning, it started to itch.

I began to think back when I was a little girl. My father got stung by a wasp. His face had swollen on one side so bad that I couldn’t tell if he was looking at me. My father looked mean as I tried to talk to him. He was watching TV, but he looked like he was watching me too. I couldn’t tell. Finally at last he said, “Hmm, hmm.” So I knew he had at least heard me.

When I think about that, I think about Laila Ali. When she hits her opponents, their faces look swollen. Laila Ali is just like the bumble bee. She’s got the sting just like her father.

Laila is a boxer, and you got to misbehave when you box. I get a kick out of seeing Laila misbehave. I know that her opponents talk junk to her, and Laila remembers everything they say. Whenever she steps into the ring, she looks at her opponents so mean. That makes me laugh. Laila doesn’t blink. Her opponents try to look mean back, but they know that they are doomed. If you are a fan watching, you know that Laila is going to   whip somebody. That is Laila Ali the boxer.
