ALLIE T. HITS 1000 WITH FIRST HALF LAYUP
1.28.12 - Clearview High School 2008 graduate and Alvernia University senior forward Allie Toczylowski scored a layup from the right side of the lane early in the first half of Saturday's game against Widener and reached the career milestone of 1000 points. Allie scored 10 for the game, but it was not quite enough as Widener defeated the Crusaders by a score of 78-68. She is the 11th player in Alvernia Women's Basketball history to reach 1000 career points.

"A Scoop Of Hoops"
from Coach Bress

March 31, 2012

It's been several weeks since I updated the SCOOP OF HOOPS section of the site, and so much has happened in that time.  As noted on this page, the Lady Pioneers earned a number of post season honors and last Monday, the entire team assembled in the High School Auxilliary Cafeteria for our annual awards dinner.  Players received their Varsity and JV letters and as you can see in the panel on the right hand side of this page, there were individual awards as well.

I had the great experience of once again being an assistant coach for the South/Central team in the NJSCA Senior All Star Game played at Rider, and the following weekend, I saw our South Jersey Seniors in action in the Carino Club All Star Game played at Paul VI.  It was also a treat to see a future Lady Pioneer, Hannah Quast, in action in the 8th Grade All Star game.

In what was the final "official" function of the 2011-12 Season, the Carino Basketball Club Awards Banquet held on March 28 at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, I was honored to present Clearview graduate Carino Club College Players of the Year.  Allie T. finished her Alvernia University Career as the 9th leading scorer (1082 points) and 4th leading rebounder (869 rebounds) in Alvernia Women's basketball history and of course, was the 11th Alvernia player to score 1000 points.

The Lady Pioneers will take some well-deserved time off (except the ones who begin their Spring Seasons this week) but I will periodically update the site with news from Summer League and our performance at the Villanova Team Camp!
