We're ever changing but here are our current projects:
Drew-Is effectively getting Eyes & Ears started, a low voltage wiring business of his own. His 3-4 years of experience have proven a good investment as he really enjoys what he's doing and now is creating a successful business of his own! He's always looking for investors, and customers!! He hopes to eventually broaden his business by learning how to install "green" technologies including solar panels, etc.
He is now an official distributor of many brands of electronic products--Samsung, Yamaha, Toshiba & more, so if you're looking for a TV, amp, Receiver, Speakers, or more, let him know! He'd love to hook you up!
Lacey-FINISHED!! her Spanish degree in May this year. Now she's taking on students for tutoring & really enjoying her teaching experience. She started selling Discovery Toys educational products in May of last year in hopes of making a little extra $$ and free toys for Naomi. (visit her websiteemail to order).
Recently she organized a screening of The Business of Being Born, which was a huge success. Lacey is passionate about raising awareness of issues that surround maternity care in the U.S. and promoting options for women that keep them & their babies safe. She's part of a new local group called Triad Birth Advocacy, a grassroots organization hoping to sponsor & grow in the area.
Lacey & Drew recently found out they are expecting their 2nd child and have been trying to prepare. But, we're excited and hope Naomi will enjoy another member to fight with ;) Lacey started sewing...perhaps a part of the nesting phenomenon...
We Grim's have also just extended our "urban garden" and are reaping harvests continually. We've had an abundance of Spinach, Sugar Snap Peas, strawberries, and lettuce so far & we're looking forward to this upcoming seasons tomatoes, beans, squash, zucchini, and more. The Lord has created a passion for the earth in us, and we LOVE sharing it with others! We try to grow everything as organically as possible--no pesticides or herbicides or hormones--and we feel you can taste the difference, and see it when our garden is at its peak. AND WE HAVE BEES!! They're great, and not nearly as intimidating as we thought. We're hoping their presence will insure a heavy crop of apples off our tree in August, and a nice ammount of local, unpasteurized Honey as well! Take a look at a few bee pics!
Naomi is currently obsessed with art. She wakes up wanting to paint and doesn't want to leave the house without a crayon or marker and a pad to draw on. Of course, we encourage this, and love to see what her little mind can concoct. It's amazing to see her wonderment of Creation and it's a blessing to hear her interpretations. Not to say there are not moments of frustration and anger, but they are generally wiped away by a grin & a giggle...
