Usability Design and Research

Amaya Becvar Weddle

I'm both a big idea person, and a person who finds great joy in diving into the messy details of human behavior in order to generate actionable design solutions.  I have formal training in anthropology and cognitive science (Ph.D. in Cognitive Science, UC San Diego), and I did my dissertation using ethnographic methods applied to studying HCI design.  I have done usability research and design in both academic and corporate environments.

A word on confidentiality

It's always a challenge as a designer on the job market to adequately document one's past work in such a way that it does justice to the work without violating confidentiality agreements in place, or demonstrating questionable ethics.  For this reason, I have removed all references to companies for which an NDA is in place from the work I'm showing here.  Furthermore, I have not disclosed any "final" or market-ready designs, as what I've documented are rough design concepts.  Those market ready designs I do show have already been released to the public in Beta campaigns.
