    Bio.

    Studied Architecture at University College Dublin and University of East London, qualified UK 1997. Early career included, brief periods with Norman Foster’s Tokyo office & minimalist John Pawson, working on office buildings for Rosehaugh Stanhope at John Outram Assoc.s, Leicester School of Engineering & Manufacture at Peake Short Architects and social housing projects in Paris.

    In London, Project Architect for a new apartment building at David Quigley Architects was followed by same role on a listed building for Christopher Smallwood Architects. Commercial experience includes Project Architect for, a large shopping centre tensile structure, and large residential buildings. Small projects carried out as Lisa Harmey Architect from 1997 included alterations and extensions to a large private house, and an apartment refurbishment. L1 was formed in 2005, born of, the absurdity & inequity of global mobility.

    The Design Tutor course at University of East London before needing to re-locate to Canada, involved teaching in the first year. ‘Green Buildings’ interdisciplinary charettes for students at Ryerson University, added further experience.

    Canadian activities include freelance ‘residential expert’ work for Six Degrees Architecture & Design Inc. Toronto, followed by projects for TCA Inc. Hamilton, small buildings OBC exams were completed in 2008.
