Pony of the Americas is the only breed orgainizaion dedicated to developing youth riders. Memberships are family based for both KyPOAC and Pony of the Americas Club.  This allows entire families to be involved with one membership.  Ownership is not a requirement to show a POA.  Leased and borrowed ponies are shown at all levels of competition.

The Kentucky Pony of the Americas Club is a non-profit organization. We were founded to promote this great breed in Kentucky.  Presently, KyPOA holds shows in the western end of Kentucky.  We hope to expand across the state as we try new facilities.  POA's are a family activity.  Events offer something for everyone. Children and families can learn about POA's in a safe, family friendly environment through our club.

Shows are offered in a very family friendly format with classes in several age groups for children and an adult division.  Rider groupings are 6 & under, 8 & under, 9-12, 13-18, and 19 and over.  These divisions allow children of similar age and experience compete against one another.  POA shows offer classes for every one.   The 6 & under division offers a wide variety of leadline classes for small children.  The 8 & under division has both walk trot and walk, trot, canter classes to ease children into more advanced riding skills.  The 9-12 and 13-18 divisions allow children to continue competing  with  others in their age and skill group. 

There are halter, western, costume, trail, hunt seat, jumping, and timed event classes.  Any class a child could want to try is available at a POA show!
