And in more ways than one! Remember the popular restuarant slogan, "No Rules, Just Right"? Well it's kinda that way at Krey. Do the right thing by using common sense and normal gliderport procedures and signals. Always follow the Krey Pattern (See attachment below), and don't block the runway, or leave your aircraft unsecured. Posted signage indicates pets and young children are not allowed on the flight line.
In case that the interpretation of common sense and normal procedures is in dispute, there are 2 overarching rules that will be applied:
Krey Rule #1
"It's MY Airport. If you don't like it, TOUGH! You can LEAVE!" (Sanitized Quote)
Krey Rule #2
Krey is always right (See Rule #1)
Krey Reminders
If you don't know the Rules, or break one accidentially, you will get a Reminder, unless of course you have been around long enough to know better, in that case see below under Krey Rants.
The Reminder may be so slight that you don't even know you are getting one. Key words to look out for are, your first name followed by "Incidentially", and "By the way" and "I've been meaning to tell you"and "You don't want to do that because", followed by a fairly long description of your transgression. Now is a good time to listen. Argueing will only lengthen the conversation, and may start a Rant.
Krey Rants
Best avoided if possible, but if you have the time and want to experience one without being the target of the Rant, just bring up taxes, anyone in government, or the high cost of anything, then sit back and listen. If you become the object of a mild Rant the key words to listen for are "Hey" (your last name) "Whacha doing out there" or "Don't do that!" or "I gotta tell ya" You might also be compared to other pilots on the field with a poor reputation. Best just to listen and avoid comments, but questions might be tolerated.
If you really screw up, you will get a Major Rant. Usually reserved for transgressions involving his equipment/property. There won't be any doubt about this one, it will start with "expletive" (Your last name) "expletive" "whacha doing!" "expletive, expletive" and occasionally "DON'T DO THAT AGAIN, EXPLETIVE!" Any utterance on your part is most unwise, and will likely result in a restatement of Krey Rule #1.
Summary: Follow the Rules! They are usually right! (As evidenced by the good safety record at Krey Field) |
