Clark Cole S.I.

Hi, my name is Clark David Cole. I am currently holding steady at third degree black. I started American Kenpo in 1980 with Mr. Dave Brock, in Westminster California.

I took a 4 year absence from Kenpo and started up again in 1985, where I tested for 1st degree black in 1989, in Stanton, CA,.

After finding out that there were a lot of elements missing in the Kenpo I had learned up to 1988. I found an instructor that could fill in the gaps and whom I felt was a qualified Kenpo instructor. His name is Pat Salantri. That was 1990, and I have never stopped training and have enjoyed each new thing I have learned through the years.

Now in 2008, I am very proud to include my son Jack (I promoted him to first black in 2005) in the lessons we take with Pat. Our most recent lessons were on Form 5, its applications and presentation. What an awesome experience to be watching my son train in the same manner that my Father watched me many years before.

So what is this page about?

Ed Parkers American Kenpo.

Cole Family Kenpo stresses the

Contact Resistance Method of training

that separates itself from

sport oriented martial arts.

For the love of teaching and seeing the look on the faces of students as they incorporate and assimilate new information, that is why I teach. I knew in 1980 that I wanted to be a kenpo teacher. Not just a black belt, but a teacher that could pass on what I would learn. 28 years and so many new experiences later, I see that I would never change anything. As the Husband of Gladis, Father to Jack, Sage and Leticia, being able to pass on the legacy of Cole Family Kenpo has brought joy and happiness to my life.

Can Kenpo make you happy? Sure, it can make you sweat, tired, exhilarated, sore, efficient, aware, and lots of other things that make you a Kenpo student.
