Entropion
On March 10, 2008, Kobe was taken to his veterinarian because of a cold and ear infection. Kobe's eyes has always been tearing. The vet. said he has entropion on his lower eyelids and suggested that he should be operated as soon the cold is gone. I contacted our breeder and also checked with some experienced Chow owners on the NetChows Forum, they all suggested that I should wait as Kobe is still growing. A week later, the second vet. confirmed that Kobe has entropion, one eye is very slightly, almost nothing, the other is more obvious. This vet., like other Chow owners, said we should wait for at least 6 months to a year before we do anything to Kobe's eyes as he is still growing. There is a slight chance that it will outgrow the problem when the head grows bigger.
Now I see some hope in Kobe's case, so...always get a second opinion when it comes to a health decision.
