The effecient, clean production and use of energy
The Wind Turbine
Just one way to produce energy locally and sustainably.
Look how big it is !

For the $1.3 million that the city wants to spend on downtown parking meters we could install one 1.2 megawatt wind turbine (at the Red Gap Ranch) that will produce enough energy for 300 homes and the revenue from the sale of that clean energy would return to the city treasury.

Our Homegrown Wind Power
Solar
Solar powered monorails
will produce sustainable energy
and effecient transportation at the same time
Arizona is one of the best locations on the earth to build large scale solar powered energy production plants.
By investing in our own local clean energy production we will bring monies that would otherwise leave the city to APS or other providers back into our own accounts to be used locally. These monies could be invested and reinvested here in our infrastructure.
The Profile of the Nay-sayer
· renewable energy cannot solve our energy problems · wind turbines are unreliable
and dependent on the wind · wind energy is expensive · wind turbines spoil the
scenery · wind turbines are noisy
The Profile of the Yes-sayer
· renewable energy is very much an alternative to other energy sources · the climate
change must be taken seriously · wind energy is limitless unlike fossil fuels ·
wind energy is none polluting · wind energy is safe
The two profiles illustrates very well why wind energy is constantly being debated. You can find arguments both pro and con wind energy and no fact sheet is given. Instead the attitudes are mostly based on individual values and beliefs. Whether wind turbines spoil or enrich the scenery, is a matter of taste. Whether the price of wind energy is cheap or expensive depends also on how dearly you value the global climate and whether you believe in the greenhouse effect.
Hellooooooooooo is anybody out there?
