| | Since 1989 the senior sections of the Whitehorn Scout Group have served the volunteer appreciation dinner at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Extended care facility. In 2007 this service was extended to include the George Boyack Centre as well. Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and adult Scouters help make sure that those who volunteer to work with the facility residents throughout the year do not have serve their own supper on the one night set aside for them. The Scouting youth have the chance to meet volunteers form other walks of life, many with physical challenges themselves to overcome. |
