Course Description

This course uses an algebra readiness curriculum built on ST Math, a research based math curriculum.  ST Math supports the five middle school content strands identified in the NCTM standards and most state standards (number, geometry, measurement, probability and statistics, algebra) and emphasizes problem solving and mathematical literacy through the use of visuals.
The blended curriculum of this course integrating the use of technology and text targets students who may need additional preparation for Algebra I. Throughout the materials, explicit connections are made between different representations, such as fractions, decimals, and percents; visual modeling tools enhance the understanding of these representations.
