Students will be able to choose from a variety of "achievements" or projects. Students will be graded by the number of achievements completed as well as the quality and feedback from the achievements. - Come up with 5 project/achievement ideas that get adopted by the instructor

- Make over 100 useful edits in Wikipedia
- Interview a person considered "notable" by Wikipedia
- Write a story on the Internet that gets picked up by the main stream media
- Find a significant error in reporting by the main stream media and blog about it
- Write a story or make a video that gets linked to by one of the Technorati top 100 blogs or over 20 blogs or gets more than 20 comments by non-classmembers
- Bookmark and annotate over 300 pages on delicious or any other social bookmarking service
- Write an article that gets "dugg" over 20 times
- Post a photograph that ends up on over 10 blogs or one main stream media site
- Write a story with video, audio and text elements
- Attend a press conference and cover it on a blog, video site or podcast
- Interview the CEO of a publicly traded company
- Interview a Japanese politician
- Find a source/eye-witness for a current/on going story via twitter/FB/flickr and interview them "live"
- Obtain a Journalistic network spanning over 10 different countries through social networks or similar
- Get something slashdotted
