India  has the largest child labor population in the world!

        29,000 and more bonded children in India were saved by the South Asian Coalition in Child Servitude.  Leader, Kailash Satyarthi helped rescue those child workers.  Although many childeren laborors were relived that day, many more are still working today.  Unfortuneatly, Department of Labor says that India has the largest number of child laborers. 

       How do the children come to be workers?  Well, most children get food from strangers, the stranger tells them they can have more food and better food.  If the child beleives them, they end up working and the stranger's trick has worked.  That is a type if kidnapping, yet why should it be allowed?

        Imagine if you are fourteen years old and after twelve hours of hard labor, you fall asleep, standing.  That really happened to a boy, named Rajesh Sahani, who was working on a road in Pokhara, India.  Sadly the boy never went to school and had work thrust upon him.  Children also work as gemstone polishers in an industry in India.  One hundred thousand children work  in the silk industry in India, and they work in every step of the process. 

       In India, laws must be changed in order for child labor to stop, petitions should be filled, protests and marches should be walked, and children should go to school for diplomas.
