What is RICE Racing?

At the moment our intention is to have a informal cycle races on the first Saturday and the third Sunday of every month unless it clashes with a significant local event. We are building RICE Racing along the club model from NZ and Australia. The idea is the races are run by cyclists for cyclists. So it is up to us to take ownership and keep the races going.

Types of races we hope to organize include:
  • Graded Circuit Races
  • Handicapped Races
  • Individual and Team Time Trials
  • Hill Climbs
  • Criteriums and Street Madisons
  • Longer European classic style races
  • Weekend stage races

Over time we hope to add some racing and training advice to this website and organize a few skills clinics for the riders new to racing.

Okay... But Why RICE?

After our first race graphic designer, artists and fellow cyclist Razli Ibrahim came to us with a great idea for a logo.His concept is that we RIde together and we raCE together... so we RICE. We think it is catchy and ties in great with the concept that rice is the fuel that allows us to race.

So from now on we dont race we RICE!

The fastest way to get racing is to join our Mailing List or if you are on Facebook you can also join our group "Rice Racing - Get Cooked on a Bike!". Announcements and race reports will be sent to you about once a week.
