I love science fiction; books, movies, TV shows, you name it. I'm a Star Trek fan and really enjoy Battlestar Galactica. I'm currently reading the Peter Hamilton series "Faith," which concludes the Neutronium Alchemist series.

I enjoy playing chess. I started playing chess after receiving a computer chess game for Christmas in 1977. I hadn't played in nearly fifteen years when my good friend Todd recently passed along to me the site www.redhotpawn.com. I keep a few games going under the id 1pawn.

I also like video games and am (unfortunately) very hooked on a PS2 game called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. I play online and my id is bringoutyerdead. (Yes, I'm a bit of a Monty Python fan, also. Favorite quote: "I've had worse.")

I play bass, a little. I have an acoustic (not stand-up) Fender bass that I tinker with. Thanks indefinitely Fondo for giving me the confidence to pick it up!

I also enjoy camping with my family. We own a pop-up camper that we take on a few trips per year (usually long weekends). We like exploring new campgrounds, but we have our favorites also.

For vacationing in the spring and summer I enjoy what is increasingly our annual trek to see my parents in Tampa, Florida; we really enjoy Holmes Beach. Also, hanging around our pool at home makes summer a vacation unto itself.

I have been known, on occasion, to play a friendly game of poker. I get together with neighbors for open hand nights, and my brother holds Texas Hold'em tournaments. I'm not particularly good (that should yield some invitations!).
