King of the Log - a game of skill and combat at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival invites you to display your courage, strength and cunning this year at the Festival.    Each year the Festival is open every weekend from mid-August  to the first weekend in October. 

King of the Log is a game of hand to hand combat, using sacks, on a log, in a moat of straw.  The winner of three bouts becomes King or Queen of their log and is eligible for the King's Tournament at 5:00 PM.  More details of the rules and strategies of the game are to be found within these pages.

The King and Queen winners are posted here for all to behold.  If you know these champions,  contact them and come to the Festival for a challenge match.

Our Lord, King Henry, needed a training camp to identify courageous  knights without the sad mortality of swordplay.  King of the Log has a an illustrious history and place as an  important part of the King's training center.
