To serve for the full 2-1/2 years in Japan, I need to raise about $26,000. As of May 2010, my funding stands at:

• about $22,000 in hand
• about $3,000 formally pledged
• a little less than than $1,000 still to go. (Almost there!)
  

Active Missions

For some people, active missions can take them into their communities, across the country, or around the world. I have been blessed by many opportunities to serve in this way. If you feel called to active missions, LCMS World Mission offers countless programs, both within and outside of the United States. Check out their website for more information.

Mission Support

However, active mission work isn't for everyone. Family or career commitments, or physical or medical issues prevent willing workers from entering the harvest fields. Do not despair! There are so many ways you can still get involved in ministry!

Prayer Support (Prayer Warriors)

Truly, nothing happens that the Lord has not commanded. Paul teaches us to "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (I Thessalonians 5:17). From raising the needed funds and making preparations, to safe travel and active witness among the people, any mission needs a great deal of prayer. If you would like to join my team as a partner in prayer, please contact me. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, I always include prayer requests in my monthly newsletter, and post current prayer requests on this site. (Check out the Prayer Corner for current requests.)

In addition to the monthly prayer requests and the prayers posted in the Prayer Corner, I began a concentrated prayer group in 2010 which I call my "Prayer Warriors." These wonderful supporters receive (roughly) weekly emails from me, with a few specific prayer requests. If you are interested in becoming a Prayer Warrior, let me know via email.

Financial Support (Mission Sender)

Very little in this world is free. As a part of my mission, I need to raise $25,000. These funds will provide for:

• travel expenses (airfare to Japan and back home)
• training materials and supplies
• a monthly stipend, from which I will pay utilities and buy food.

This is a rather large sum of money, but every dollar that has been given has demonstrated to me the power of God to supply our needs. I'm in the "home stretch" right now--less than $1,000 to  go. If everyone gives a small amount, I will have raised what I need in no time. Please prayerfully consider a financial gift to support my ministry. You can bless my efforts in two ways:

• A special gift, for example $200 toward my goal.
• A monthly pledge. $25 every month would provide $750 over the 30 month program.

The numbers I have presented are only examples. Both smaller and larger amounts are equally appreciated. If you feel called to join my team as a Mission Sender, you have 3 options:

Fundraising Support

In addition to the personal gifts I receive, money raised by fundraisers can also be applied to my account. Right now (since I'm in Japan), I'm not planning any fundraisers. However, if you'd like to help me out by holding a fundraiser on my behalf, I would be very grateful. Contact me for details.
