Kimekai's Coaches have a wealth of experience competing and coaching across the globe since the 1980's. We have cornered combat athlethes in MMA, Kickboxing, MuayThai, Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, BJJ, & Karate not just in Australia but Asia, North & South America and Europe.
We pride ourselves in training our athletes to compete to an International level- be it amateur or professional. Our Team has athletes born in more than 20 different nations. We are a true reflection of what Melbourne, Australia is. Our mission is to bring Australian Combat Sports athletes to compete on a global stage.
For those who have no interest in competition or fighting we take a true family approach to training where your goals in fitness and martial art skill are pursued the Champions way. Kimekai is a very inclusive school where all are welcome!
MARCO MAZZANTI
Marco is the ground fighting coach for the Kimekai MMA program. Marco's Kimekai Dojo in Highett was the first Peter de Been Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school added to his proud group of grappling academies back in 1996. Marco teaches BJJ the way Peter has taught him - ever mindful to carry on the Gracie Barra tradition here in Australia.
Marco also has the unique advantage of being a Karate 5th Dan actively teaching & coaching present day international Karate kumite champions after retiring from competition as a 10 time Australian Karate Champion, representing his country on the world stage for a decade. Marco's indepth striking knowledge is seamlessly layered beneath his grappling coaching.

Ed is the striking coach -he began his full contact training under WKA Champion Dennis "Kid Pass" Passaretti in Providence, R.I. - 5 time Lumpini Champ Ajarn Pud Pad Noi is Dennis' Muaythai teacher. In 1989 he made his first of many journeys to Thailand to train under Yodtong Senenan (Sityodtong) fighting for his camp. Ed ultimately traveled to Melbourne, Australia to train & fight for the legend Dave Hedgcock. Dave trained him in Australia to eventually win a USA Muaythai belt.
Ed grew up wrestling at his local Boy's Club and was captain of his high school wrestling team in Plymouth, Massachusetts which won regional championships.
