a.k.a: Nothing repeatable in public. Prairie Dogs are a tunneling rodent (not dog) that lives in large colonies on the plains throughout the west. The varmints eat grass and other plants and dig hundreds of miles of tunnels for their dens (collectively, not individually). Farmers hate them because Prairie Dogs eat their crops, ranchers and horse riders hate them because livestock can step into their holes and break a leg. Farmers and ranchers have been waging a war to exterminate the Prairie Dog for as long as they have been coexisted. The little critter has proved to be resilient and almost as hard to get rid of as other pests such as cockroaches and politicians. These days though they are in demand as pets, especially in Japan. To get the Prairie Dogs out of their holes the gatherers use a huge truck-mounted vacuum and just suck them out. And they there's Dramatic Prairie Dog; an internet meme that is both pointless and entertaining. |
