aka: Cougar, Puma, Catamount, Leopard One of the apex predators in North America, the Mountain Lion is found coast to coast. Or at least it used to be. They were heavily hunted as livestock killers, man killers and just because they were moving and somebody had a rifle. They are very dangerous though. People are attacked on a fairly regular basis in the Western states each year. Not all are fatal but all are devastating. In the town where I live people occasionally find mountain lions in their garages. That'll wake you up really quick in the morning. |
