aka: None/Canadian Lynx Bobcat and Lynx are feline predators that range over most of the US. They are two different species and despite looking a lot alike they don't interbreed. The most recognizable feature of both is the short or "bobbed" tail. The Bobcat resembles a large house cat but is a cunning predator. It mainly eats hares and birds. often catching the birds in flight with their powerful jumping ability. They also catch fish and scavenge as well. The Lynx is significantly larger that the Bobcat but is smaller than the cougar. Other than size you can tell the difference by the Lynx's tufted ears. The diet is roughly the same but Lynx are large enough to take down a deer by themselves. |
