“We plan to come to KidzArtz every year until we die.”  This declaration was made by one family who attended the KidzArtz show held Saturday April 25th at Junctionview Studios. It was THAT much fun!

Over 100 visual art pieces were displayed, around 25 kid vendors sold their crafts and a dozen young performers dazzled the audience at the 2nd annual KidzArtz show hosted and sponsored by local organization Mother Artists at Work and co-sponsored by the Couchfire Collective.

Visitors took in the visual arts which included ceramics, mixed media collages, paintings, photos and other media.  They also shopped in the vendor area. Plushies of all shapes and sizes were definitely a popular item being sold and purchased.  Other homemade wares being vended ranged from lavender lip gloss to stenciled t-shirts to programmed computer games.

The stage area bustled with exciting sights and sounds.  Some of this year's KidzArtz performances were kid-made movies and violin solos. The Grimaldi Circus returned for an awe-inspiring encore performance. And other amazing movement arts were showcased in the stage area by the Whetstone breakdancing group as well the Irish Step Dancers.  All in all it was a multi-cultural feast for the eyes and ears!

In the kids' art-making area, hosted by pepperpaints.com, youth and adults decorated several tepees made with natural materials.  The littler ones seemed to enjoy playing inside the festooned tepees as much as adorning them.

While not viewing art, purchasing art, creating art and listening to more art, KidzArtz participants and visitors took advantage of the free face painting by Mik Heslin of BigSmiley and also had their photo taken by Groovy Doodle.

$150 was raised from various raffles held throughout the day.  This money was donated to the local organization ArtSafe which uses art to help children heal from abuse and other challenges in their lives.

Big thanks go out to our sponsors and donors who helped make this year's KidzArtz show such a huge success.  CD 101 was the media sponsor for the show. Other supporters were: AmyD, Blick Art Materials, The Columbus Museum of Art, GroovyDoodle, Litech Lighting, Moogan Creations, The Painted Monkey Mural Co., Rad Dog, Red Rover, SolarImaging, Target, United Commercial Travelers- M.
