Khale View is a small suburb of Gaborone, Botswana where I spent my first four years in Africa. The area has a beautiful view of Khale Hill. Khale means 'place of history' or 'old place' in Setswana, the local language, it has the same meaning in Swahili as well. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a natural dog at home in the bush, in town, or on the couch. It has a significant place in the pioneer history of southern Africa, and continues to be a working dog in this area. It is with this understanding, and with an intent to conserve and promote African ridgeback lines, that decisions about Khale View breedings are made. |
