General Information

Goals of the 2009 Seminar

-To teach and learn from one another in an environment which will foster discussion about Reform Judaism and leadership on campus

-For current Reform Jewish leaders to gain confidence in their skills and learn new ones to enhance programming on their campuses

-For prospective leaders to learn and build on skills to become Reform Jewish leaders

-For participants to return to their home campuses and create or improve significantly Reform Jewish life on their campus as attached to Hillel and KESHER

-To strengthen Reform Jewish life on campuses across the country through leadership training for students

-To allow new people to become involved in Reform Jewish leadership on campus in a formalized way

-To allow campuses to actively improve Reform Jewish life on their campuses through sending students to the seminar

-To encourage students to remain actively involved in Reform Judaism after graduation

We are dedicated to giving students the tools they need to create, build, and strengthen their Reform chavurah (group) on Campus, whatever their situation may be.  For some, KESHER serves as an entirely separate entity from the Hillel board, complete with an executive committee and programming chairs.  For others, it’s simply a group of Reform students who found a niche within their Hillel, and are looking for Reform resources to strengthen the level of programming within Hillel.  And, in some cases, your KESHER may even just be you.

Get ready for a weekend packed with learning and networking!  This is your opportunity to learn how to create the programming and structure you’ve been dreaming about.  Workshops and discussions will be lead by students, clergy, Jewish professionals, professors from McGill University and Montreal, and Reform lay leaders.  Become the advocate for Collegiate Reform Judaism!
