1917 - 2003 - Frances Nell Storer, a nationally known watercolor artist,
was a native of Central City, KY, where her family owned a jewelry
store.

- She first studied art with James Hu-Hilo in Hawaii in 1955
and then attended the Rex Brandt Summer School in Corona del
Mar, California. She also studied in Arizona and New Mexico.
She owned and operated a gallery in Central City in the 1960s,
where she offered classes.

- Storer, a juried member of the American Watercolor Society,
moved to Louisville in the 1970s and became active in the local
arts community.
