The Kentish Gazzette have come back to me re my graph of the music falling off. One of their questions was "What is the state of music in Canterbury ?" So I have done a quick trawl through those of the pubs that I know have had music in the past, plus a few that I have been pointed to - if I have missed your favourite pub, or you know bettter, please do email me : Beau_at_KentFolk_dot_com , but this seems to be the state of play as of mid March 2009 :

Music every Thursday
- Bell & Crown :
1st & 3rd Wednesday : Acoustic music
- Blind Dog :
Just re-opening but no plans to do music due to the cost of the licence.
- Carpenter's Arms :
Music once a week, also 3rd Friday of Month: Open Mike
- Caseys - have moved their music days :
Sunday: Acoustic music Monday: Rock Wednesday: Band Night.
- Cherry Tree :
Tuesday : Live Band
- Cricketers Arms :
Every Thursday : Live Music Some Sundays.
- Dolphin :
Friday and Sunday : Luke Smith on the piano.
- Hobgoblin :
Have neighbours that complain if they have music.
- Jolly Sailor :
Tuesday: Open Mike / DJ
- King William IV :
Closed.
- Maiden Head :
DJ or Music Friday and Saturdays
- Millers Arms :
Thinking about doing music again.
- Orange Street :
Currently a major music venue, with music a few days a week.
- Round House :
Closed.
- Scribes :
No music advertised outside.
- Simple Simons / Parrot :
Was the best pub for music, but now not doing music.
- Two Sawyers
New Landlord, just starting music again.
- White Hart :
Have neighbours that complain if they have music.
May 2009 :
- News from Dave Ferra - he has a gig in The Parrot (was Simple Simons) on the 7the May, so they have changed their mind 5 times now by my count, about having music. Keep fingers crossed that the music keeps happening.
June/July 2009 :
- In fact for the new French and European Dance Music Session, on first Sundays of the Month, 8-10.30. Phil Martin (Drohne) says please contact him if you want to play : 01843 836504. See also www.drohne.co.uk www.myspace.com/lesbatonsfrenchdancing.
- The second Sunday of each month, 8pm onwards, starting Sunday 14th June 2009, is a Celtic Session.
