this is ken.

...or is it?  This site will act to house some of the least unpleasant attempts at photographic achievement along with the self-absorbed, megalomaniacal musings during which they were captured.

Life is complicated, doesn't matter who you are, but sometimes appreciating the simple things out there helps you to ground yourself.  This is Smudges.  She was, at one time, a tiny ball of infinite energy, sprinting to and from tennis balls and chew toys.  Here we see her in the twilight of her life, soaking in the morning sunbeams perched on her favorite couch.

This stretch of beach located on the west coast of the island of Puerto Rico in a small city called Rincón holds many memories for me.  I once spent a stretch of time longing after a loved one back home, scribing messages to her in the sand that were slowly wiped away by the Caribbean's gentle waves.  Months later, I returned there with her and spent evenings enjoying the warm waters and sharing the thick tropical air.

The bright lights of the city of Jacksonville reflect off of the waters beneath this bridge, beckoning passersby to indulge in the night life.  This photo was taken in the back of an abandoned restaurant after scaling a few shoddily constructed security fences and climbing up to the building's roof.

The California fires were a time of panic and terror for many Southern California residents, including myself.  Driving home from work and being able to see the fires on the hills just miles from our condominium was definitely a surreal feeling.  I headed down the 133 out to Laguna Beach, as anyone will tell you, one of my favorite shooting spots.  The sunset was cut short by the layer of thick smoke on the horizon.  While certainly an unnatural sight, something about the life in the thundering ocean waves and the fire of the sinking sun made the moment uniquely beautiful.
