Welcome

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State University.

My areas of specialization are epistemology and philosophy of perception. Right now I am working on several papers developing and defending the direct realist theory of perception and the relationship between perceptual experience and our knowledge of facts about the physical world. I am also interested in various issues in moral philosophy, metaphysics, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of mind.

I received my doctorate in Philosophy from The University of Iowa in 2008 where I wrote a dissertation about direct realist theories of perception entitled Real appearances: the metaphysics and epistemology of direct realism.
