Welcome

I am a graduate research assistant in the department of Material Science and Enginnering  at the University of Maryland. I joined Dr. Gary Rubloff's research group in 2009 and have been working on a variety of projects which primarily relate to the fabrication of energy devices through the use of Atomic Layer Deposition.

Previous to my studies and research at UMD I completed a Masters degree in Applied Physics at the University of Massachusetts Boston and a bachelors in Physics at Central Connecticut State University. While completing my masters degree I was also an intern at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center  which is a small research base located a few miles outside of Boston. At Natick I did research on the optical properties of carbon nanotubes.

My primary research interest is the application of material science, and more specifically nanotechnology, to alternative energy technology. Understanding the fundamental properties of materials will ultimately lead us to renewable, inexpensive, clean, and viable energy sources.
