Google for Educators

Today, we're going to create a google page to allow our classes to collaborate online. First, you will need to go to the Google website and type in Google for Educators in the search box. Then, click on Google for Educators and select the lab link for Page Creator. If you have a google account, you will need to sign in. If you do not, you will need to create an account to complete this task.

Here are some examples of Google Gadgets that may be used for virtual collaborations:

To add a gadget: simply select 'add gadget' at the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Be sure to select gadgets that lend to students sharing ideas and information.

Here, I've added Google Docs to my page. This allows students to share documents, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations online.

Google chat allows for online real time connections.

Google translator helps translate words from one language to another for REAL distance collaborations.

The World Clock gadget ensures students are aware of what time it is anywhere they want to connect.
