Click here to view these updates for 2010. 21-Oct-2010 Full Monty Closed For Logging 6-Oct-2010 More Trail Closures - Centre Star Gulch Trail Some trails adjacent Star Gulch reservoir will be closed starting October 6, 2010 due to tree falling danger. Closures signed on affected trails Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 3:00 pm Closures will be minimized by scheduling and alternate routes will be provided wherever possible. Trail user safety is paramount. Please respect any closure signs you encounter and use alternate routes as posted. Further information on this program is available on the City of Rossland website. Expected time span is 3 weeks. This and the notice below will be taken down when we have had this confirmed. 19-Aug-2010 Possible Closures on Technogrind, Larrys, Miners ... Trails located on City of Rossland land may be affected by work performed under the RDKB Operational Fuel Management Program. The primary goal of the program is to reduce hazardous forest fuel loads as identified in Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP’s) adjacent to communities. Work is scheduled to take place Aug - Nov 2010 and will include thinning from below, the removal of dead and diseased trees, as well as the removal of ladder fuels and small woody surface debris. This work will take place adjacent to sections of Curly, Moe and Miners as well a short section of Techno Grind above Iron Colt. Closures will be minimized by scheduling and alternate routes will be provided wherever possible. Trail user safety is paramount - please respect any closure signages you encounter and use alternate routes as posted. To quote Tyler from Revolution: "its still frickin winter up there, there must be 6 feet of snow in Lepsoe north side basin." We've updated the counter to the left to July 16th but thats just a guess. In the meantime if you want a similar level of effort I'd recommend a Double Dewdney town to town (45km and 5000' of climbing). 21-May-2010 Annual Trails Day - June 5th.
