KCTS will hold its AGM on Wed. Oct. 21 at 7pm at the Firehall (thats the new/real firehall not the winebar). Come hear a summary of the year and participate in election of new board members - there are 3 board members up for renewal.

21-Sep-2009  Tamarack Trail open

The Tamarack trail which connects Doukhobor's with Whisky and other trails from the high point of the Malde Cr Road is now officially open for riding and hiking. Its a great addition to the KCTS network and provides a moderate downhill or somewhat strenuous uphill.

21-Sep-2009  Western Drake's ReOpened
After the hard work of a small but dedicated volunteer crew this past Saturday Stew Spooner (KCTS Trail Crew Boss) declared Drakes to be officially re-opened (see earlier article about its partial closure). There will be ongoing maintenance and improvements made but its now ready for riding or walking in either direction. Read More

14-Sep-2009 Active Log Hauling On Malde Creek FSR

ATCO will be hauling logs on Malde Creek Forest Service Road between 6am and 5pm Mon – Fri for the next few weeks. If you can’t avoid this route (try climbing Tamarack instead) during these times, the following safety precautions are recommended by ATCO. Read More.

16-June-2009  Western Drake's Trail Closed By Land Access Issues
KCTS has learned that the westernmost section of Drake's trail has been closed by the land owner. The closed section begins where Drake's leaves the access road that climbs up Deer Park Hill from the campground and includes the trail to the east for approximately half to one kilometer. The access road is gated just before the beginning of Drakes. Read More

11-Jun-2009  Upper Oasis To Close June 29 

The KCTS has been informed that Atco Wood Products will be doing active logging in the area of Upper Oasis and the trail will be closed while this is going on. No completion date has been given. KCTS asks all trail users to respect the closure. Read More

7-Jun-2009  Successful Trails Day on Tamarack Trail
About 50 enthusiastic volunteers turned out to the annual spring KCTS Trails Day. 500m of new trail got built on the Tamarack Trail bringing this new addition to the KCTS family only a few days away from being completed. Read More
