Happy Summer.  Have you noticed the preschool’s garden on the playground?  During last month’s theme of farm fun the children planted a garden of tomatoes, egg plant, peas, beans, carrots, pumpkins, gourds and lettuce.  We also added an outdoor painting station for the children to get inspired by nature. 

Throughout this month we will be setting the room for Jungle.  Each interest area will have items added to incorporate the natural feel of the jungle.  We will also be taking advantage of the outdoor areas this summer.  We would like to pack as many sensory, cooking and science experiences for the children to have during the summer months.  If you have any suggestions or products that you think would be a fun activity for us to try please let the teachers know.  We will not be rotating our way through the alphabet during the summer.  Instead of the letter of the week we will be having a board for the children to bring in pictures or pamphlets from places that they have been to or activities that they have done during the summer.

Please bring in a towel, swim suit and beach bag for your child’s hook.  We will be keeping these items at school all summer so we can enjoy water days when the weather cooperates.

1^st Preschool Graduation @ 4:45

7^th Show and Share Jungle themed bring in an item from the jungle

13^th The children will be making dried tropical fruit for a trail mix (nothing is need from home)

15^th Field trip to Como be here by 9:15, volunteers welcome, return around 1:00

20^th Bring a bike/ scooter to school and safety gear

25th-29^th Bring in outdoor art supplies to share (chalk, bubbles, color bubbles…)

27^th Blend in with the jungle by wearing camouflage or green, brown, or black we will be going on a jungle safari in the woods.

28^th Pizza party picnic (nothing needed)
