Karyn Tappe

Springtime in Paris 2011

Welcome to the homepage of Karyn Tappe. I currently reside in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area and am employed as a Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Medicine, a position that ends in 2012. I am therefore seeking long-term employment that will maximize use of my research and people skills.

I have extensive training as a researcher in behavioral medicine, psychology, and healthcare. My clinical training has particularly focused on integrative medicine, and I have served on several interdisciplinary teams intended to optimize the quality and coordination of patient care. I have also recently begun to delve into consumer research, as part of a project to promote better nutrition among the inner city residents. I continue to write and publish academic journal articles, in the interest of promoting evidence-based practice in our field.

My goal is to obtain employment in an environment that allows me to employ both my creativity and my analytical skills to their full potential. I have extensive experience in survey development and administration, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis. My training in clinical psychology provides essential "people skills" for any business or academic environment. I thrive in a fast-paced environment in which I can work as part of a team effort towards specific goals. I have previously served in leadership positions for team projects as a Senior Research Analyst at ECRI, a non-profit think tank in Plymouth Meeting, PA.  (https://www.ecri.org/Pages/default.aspx)

My resume, in .pdf format, can be viewed by clicking on the file name at the bottom of the page. You may view my full professional profile on the following website:

Please contact me for professional purposes only at the following email address: karyn.tappe [at] gmail.com .

I also have a passion for animal welfare issues. I volunteer regularly at my local animal shelter and serve as a foster parent for shelter cats and kittens. Fostering saves the lives of many kittens, whose weak immune systems cannot tolerate the shelter environment. It's an incredibly rewarding experience! Please consider supporting your local animal shelter or the ASPCA, through volunteer work or a donation of supplies or money.
